It’s World Photography Day

Some thoughts on photography from the masters:

Photography, alone of the arts, seems perfected to serve the desire humans have for a moment — this very moment — to stay.

~ Sam Abell

Sometimes I do get to places just when God’s ready to have somebody click the shutter.

~ Ansel Adams

The camera doesn’t make a bit of a difference. All of them can record what you are seeing. But you have to SEE.

~ Ernst Haas

And finally, a little reminder:

Buying a Nikon doesn’t make you a photographer. It makes you a Nikon owner.

~ unknown

It’s World Photography Day. Go take a picture — even if armed with only a 2MP cameraphone (as I was when I took those grainy pics above). 🙂

  1. A very well chosen collection of quotes… incredibly thought-provoking. My favorite is the one by Ansel Adams, although I may be somewhat biased because I have one of his photographs hanging in my house 😉

    • Thanks! Adams must be the first great photographer I learned about when I was still very young. We had a neighbor who had a book featuring his works. And those were the days of no photoshop. That must be one priceless piece you’ve got there. 🙂

    • Wow, thanks! That’s a really nice thing to hear (or read). 😉 The light and the beach was just gorgeous that day and I wanted to remember how it was just the Mr., our dog and me out there.

Talk to me: :)
